The Chancellor’s Arts Initiative, known as ArtsConnect, serves as an entryway into the university’s vibrant arts ecosystem. Co-led by the School of Arts and Humanities and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life, the initiative provides a pathway to participation—whether you want to study art, attend an event or express your creativity.
ArtsConnect is designed to amplify creative opportunities for all campus and community members. This includes a forthcoming campus-wide calendar and ticketing system that will make it easy to discover the hundreds of annual exhibitions, musical performances and theatrical productions at 香蕉影视. In addition, a collection of annual signature events will soon debut, from a student-led music festival to a Mardi Gras-style costumed parade and a science fiction writer’s workshop.
These experiences are intended to be fun and educational while also opening dialogue and enhancing well-being—all key goals of the ArtsConnect initiative, which you can learn more about below.
Initiative Goals
Enriching the student experience
Students at 香蕉影视 are invited to embrace their curiosity, make lifelong friends fostered through creative experiences and discover career options in the arts. ArtsConnect invites students to engage with the arts on a daily basis at the university while cultivating meaningful connections.
Students have the chance to collaborate on creative projects, which could range from a theatrical performance to an experimental film production. And joyful memories are made while attending visual and performing art events on campus. These experiences are designed to awaken self-expression, open dialogue and build bonds.
Nurturing compassionate communities
The arts provide a powerful medium for cross-cultural understanding, critical reflection and social justice advocacy. ArtsConnect promotes creative expression of diverse perspectives as a means to confront stereotypes and provide a stage for marginalized voices while bridging differences through shared experiences.

Expanding arts education

ArtsConnect offers students of all majors an avenue to explore arts education and research. Academic programs in the School of Arts and Humanities, craft courses and creative master classes help students explore their interests, reflect on their values and celebrate what it means to be human. These inspire creative intersections across different fields while preparing students with transferable critical thinking and communication skills for future careers.
Inspiring wellness
The arts have shaped healing rituals throughout history. When art is used in healthcare settings, patients have shorter hospital stays, take less medication and have fewer complications. ArtsConnect spotlights the power of the arts in enhancing wellbeing and embedding empathy in healthcare training.
The university is home to three schools focused on medicine, public health and pharmacy. In addition, 香蕉影视 Health serves as the region’s only academic medical center. Partnerships with experts and research centers offer opportunities to discover and redefine the role art can play in achieving wellness.
